Shillong, Aug 13: I-League 2 side Downtown Heroes FC will lock horns against Shillong Lajong FC in the 2023 Durand Cup. The Group D fixture is scheduled to be played on Sunday (August 13) at the SAI Stadium in Kokrajhar.

In 2020, the Downtown Heroes FC were established to train young talents from Kashmir and for the past three years they showed and remained dedicated to their ideas.

On the other hand, Shillong Lajong have played two games in the Durand Cup so far. However, Shillong Lajong failed to win even a single game with an aggregate score of 10-0 against NorthEast United and FC Goa.

Sunday’s match is expected to one of the interesting match as both the teams are familiar with each other’s way of playing.
