Shillong, May 26: Bethany Hospital, Shillong has been recognized as a Centre of Excellence for its efforts in implementing robust infection prevention, control, and antimicrobial stewardship practices under the prestigious iCOMPLY 2024 initiative which is a national-level quality program spearheaded by the Consortium for Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO) to promote patient safety and healthcare quality across India.

The hospital has also been honored with the second runner-up (Bronze) award for the East Zone for its commitment to clinical excellence and adherence to the highest standards of infection prevention.

In a press statement, Bethany Hospital said these accolades are a testament to the hospital’s dedicated team and their continuous pursuit of best practices in infection control and rational use of antimicrobials.

The iCOMPLY initiative, supported by technical guidance collaborators Amneal Pharmaceuticals and SafeCare Healthcare Standards, is one of India’s leading quality compliance programs aimed at reducing hospital-acquired infections and combating antimicrobial resistance—an urgent global health threat recognized by the WHO.
