He has covered a distance of over 15,700 kilometers on foot and odd 6000 kms by other means of transportation, visiting states such as Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim, and has now arrived in Shillong.

Talking to reporters in the state capital, he said he along with East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner R.M.Kurbah have decided to donate blood on October 5 at a blood donation camp in the city.

He emphasised that blood donation is safe; anybody and everybody should donate blood, and it is completely healthy.

On August 7, 2023, he had reached Tura in West Garo Hills and also met Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Chelani and discussed with him on how to spread awareness among local communities so that more and more people can come forward and be a part of this mission.

His goal is to reach 5 million blood donors in India, so that no one has to die waiting for blood. His mission is to appeal to the local community to donate blood.

His campaign has been touted to be the “longest blood awareness campaign ever by an individual in the world,” extending over a span of more than two years. Verma’s journey seeks to emphasize the critical importance of blood donation in India, aiming to prevent any loss of life due to blood unavailability after December 31, 2025. His journey has taken him through a remarkable array of regions, spanning across 196 districts.

During his time in Tura, he had expressed his intention to meet Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, to take blood donation as a mission and have atleast one blood bank in every district.
