In a significant achievement for the district as well as to the department and the state as a whole, a progressive fish farmer, Nobin Arengh of Monabari village under Betasing C&RD block, South West Garo Hills, has received the Best Fish Farmer’s Award on the occasion of National Fish Farmer’s Day celebration at CAU, College of Fisheries, Lembucherra, Tripura on July 10, 2025.
Jokin Kurkalang, 50, from Mawkriah, Mawphlang, and Khlainbor Pale, 57, from Umkei, Umsning Ri Bhoi District, were honoured with certificates, mementos, and cash awards for their outstanding contributions to fish farming in the State during the National Fish Farmers Day 2024 celebration on July 10, 2024, at Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Uttarakhand and College of Fisheries, CAU (I), Tripura, respectively.
