In a joint operation, approximately 8.6 acres of poppy fields in the flowering stage were destroyed in the Makuilongdi forest area under the Senapati police station in Manipur.
Union defence minister Rajnath Singh assured a delegation of Manipur that the Centre would use IAF planes to destroy poppy fields in Manipur if the state government were to approach it for the same.
