Boko, Aug 25: A teacher at Tarabari Majalia (Middle) School in Boko area of Assam has been accused of serious misconduct involving female students, triggering police action and public outrage.
According to reports, four parents, along with members of the Tarabari Youth Club, lodged a formal complaint at Boko Police Station against Nur Islam, a teacher at the school, alleging repeated instances of physical harassment. The complaint states that the accused misused classroom situations to engage in inappropriate behavior over several months.
The issue came to light after the students’ guardians intervened and raised concerns about the teacher’s conduct. Preliminary investigations indicate that multiple students may have been subjected to similar treatment.
Nur Islam, a resident of Balijhar Shuktatari, is currently absconding. Police have launched a search operation to trace his whereabouts and assured that appropriate legal action will follow based on the investigation’s findings.
The incident has raised alarm among parents and education officials, with growing calls for stricter monitoring mechanisms in schools to safeguard students.
