Tura, June 27: Tura has made it to the state’s top ten list in this year’s Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examinations (HSSLC)-Science Stream, after re-evaluation of the answer papers of Arghadeep Ghosh of Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section elevated him to the 9th position.
Arghadeep Ghosh, who secured the second rank in the state from Sherwood School in the Class X SSLC results, two years ago, had expected a berth in the top ten positions of the state when the Class XII HSSLC results were declared, last month. But when MBOSE declared the results, Garo Hills drew a blank.
He applied for a re-evaluation of his answer sheets and, based on his answers, received 7 extra marks, which pushed him up to the state’s 9th rank holder.
He is the son of Don Bosco College physics lecturer Arindam Ghosh.
Together with him, three other students from Shillong also found a berth in the top ten list of the state for Science.
Aniket Pattanayak, of Laban Bengalee Boys Higher Secondary School, Shillong was elevated to the 3rd rank in the first ten positions of the state.
Similarly, Balarisuk Myria of St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong and Debdeep Chanda of Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong, jointly shared the 9th position with Arghadeep Ghosh.
