Shillong, Sept 24: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti, Prahlad Singh Patel visited headquarters of Directorate General (DG) Assam Rifles at Laitkor on Friday.

The Minister was received by Maj Gen SS Deusi, VSM ADG Assam Rifles.
Singh commenced his visit by paying homage to the soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice for the nation at the Assam Rifles War Memorial.

Thereafter, he was given an overview of the Assam Rifles.

The Minister also interacted with the troops over a meal. The Minister praised the high morale of the troops and appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in maintaining security and stability in the North East.
