Guwahati, Feb 17: A water supply pipeline has burst open in Bhangagarh area of Guwahati.
This incident on Saturday morning has also affected the traffic in the busy zone. Viral video’s are out where water flushing out from burst pipeline with full force can be clearly seen.
This incident flooded the roads of Bhangagarh for quite some time, but was quickly resolved by workers of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) along with officials of the same department who reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
In several instances before, incidents of water pipe burst have caused massive trouble for the residents, with few structural buildings facing damages and instances of flooding in the area.
In one such incident, a water pipeline of Guwahati Jal Board burst on June 11, which caused a flood-like situation at Rajgarh in Assam. Meanwhile locals resident’s have lambasted the GMDA and blamed them full responsibility for such incidents.
It needs to be mentioned that Last year, a woman was killed, and over 30 people were injured after the municipal body’s water supply pipe burst in Guwahati. The high pressure of water also damaged at least 40 houses in the Kharguli area of the City.
