West Garo Hills begins electoral roll revision; 4,513 enumeration forms distributed on Day 1

Tura, June 30: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll commenced across West Garo Hills on Monday, with election officials launching a door-to-door exercise to update the district’s voter list.

The district has a total of 3,96,914 registered electors, including 1,97,886 male voters, 1,99,027 female voters, and one third-gender elector, with female voters outnumbering males by 1,141.

According to official data available till 3:52 PM on the first day of the exercise, 4,513 Enumeration Forms (EFs) had been distributed to eligible voters, while 147 forms had already been digitised.

Among the Assembly constituencies, Rangsakona (ST) has the highest electorate with 40,914 voters, followed by Dadenggre (ST) with 39,880 and Selsella (ST) with 39,293. Dalu (ST) has the lowest number of electors at 23,305.

The district administration said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will continue the house-to-house distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms in the coming days as part of the revision exercise aimed at ensuring a clean, accurate and updated electoral roll.
