Shillong, March 24: Sounding Tuberculosis alarm, the Meghalaya Government determines to eliminate Tuberculosis by 2025. Health Minister AL Hek on Wednesday launch ‘Meghalaya State Strategic plan to eliminate Tuberculosis by 2025’ With the Thame: The clock is Ticking, World Tuberculosis Day was observed in Meghalaya.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Health Minister AL Hek.
Talking on the occasion, Hek said with four years left to achieve the goal, the state government looks forward to have a concentrated effort from all the stakeholders.
He said, “this strategy has a great potential for partnership with different stakeholders for the maximum utilization of the technology testing tools and drugs.”
The vision for Tuberculosis free is also to bring down the mortality rate.
“The state determines to involve the local representative like MLA, the MP Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha where they know better the problem faced by the people of their constituency,” the health minister said.
“So there if we have the active support from the local representative for how to eliminate the Tuberculosis from our state. I like to assure that the Government will provide all the necessary support to help whenever needed for reaching this goal,” he added.
