Tura, March 27: All India Trinamool Congress has become the third party to field a candidate for the Tura Lok Sabha seat with Zenith M Sangma filing his papers before Returning Officer Jagdish Chelani in Tura on Wednesday afternoon.
The former minister and ex MLA of Rangsakona will be taking on reigning Tura MP Agatha K Sangma of the NPP, Congress candidate Saleng A Sangma and Independent Laben Ch Marak.
Flanked by elder brother and former chief minister Mukul Sangma, TMC MLAs Rupa Marak of Dadenggre and Mizanur Kazi of Rajabala, Trinamool MDCs from the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council and former legislators and party leaders, Zenith arrived at the Returning Officer’s office to file his papers.
Zenith Sangma’s wife and sitting MDC of Dengnakpara constituency in GHADC, Sadhiarani M Sangma and their son also accompanied him to the filing of nomination.
