Dibrugarh, Aug 26: A father and his son were killed in a road mishap at Moran Khatkhati after their car was rammed by a speeding goods vehicle.
The deceased have been identified as Khogen Baruah (45) and his son Jugal Kishore Baruah of Pathalibam, Moran.
According to reports, Khogen Baruah was on his way to drop his son at school when the speeding vehicle struck their car.
Both father and son died on the spot.
Jugal Kishore Baruah was a student of Moran St. Joseph Higher Secondary School.
Meanwhile, police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.
“The accident happened due to overspeeding. Two people were killed after their car was hit by another vehicle,” said a police official.
He added, “Most accidents take place due to overspeeding. We have organised several awareness programmes to educate people about road safety.”
