Dibrugarh, July 23: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday announced that 3,000 youths from the state will be trained in the Japanese language to secure employment opportunities in Japan.

Addressing a press conference in Dibrugarh, CM Sarma said, “We have decided that in the first phase, 3,000 youths will receive training in the Japanese language to get jobs in Japanese companies. During Advantage Assam, three Japanese companies visited Assam and expressed interest in training our youths.”

“When our youths work in Japan, they will earn around ₹2.5 lakh per month. The training programme will cost between ₹3 lakh and ₹3.5 lakh. The state government will provide ₹1.5 lakh as support, and the remaining amount can be covered through bank loans,” Sarma stated.

He further added, “In the first phase, 3,000 students will be trained in the Japanese language. Even those who choose not to go to Japan can work in India, as many Japanese companies operate here.”

“Under the Chief Minister’s Foreign Language Initiative for Global Human Talent (CMFLIGHT) scheme, students will be trained in the Japanese language. This was discussed during Advantage Assam and approved in today’s cabinet meeting,” Sarma said.

“Every student undergoing this training will receive a scholarship of ₹1.5 lakh from the government,” he added.
