Bengaluru’s cyclist duo attempting to create world record reach Meghalaya

Shillong, Sept 4: Two cyclists who are also Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir, Bengaluru City of Karnataka, Dhanush M. and Hemanth Y.B reached Meghalaya on September 2, 2021.

The duo are attempting to create the Limca Books of Records and the Guinness World Record by cycling more than 24,000 Kms in 180 days and covering 29 States & 3 Union Territories which will be the longest Journey by bicycle in a single country.

The message that they want to convey is about ‘Global Warming and Literacy’ whereby during their journey they will try and meet locals and school children and create awareness on the two topics.

Their journey was flagged-off on 11th July, 2021 from Vidhan Soudha, Bengaluru by District Governor 3190 Rtn Fazal Mahmood.

So far the duo has travelled more than 5,500 Km and have crossed states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telanaga, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam and now they are in Meghalaya.

On Saturday,  they reached West Jaiñtia Hills where they were welcomed by the President of the rotary Club of Jowai, Rtn SK Lato and they also interacted with members of the Jaiñtia Cycle Forum.

From Jaintia Hills they will travel back to Assam and towards Nagaland and then Arunachal and other parts of the country.
