Coal movement in Meghalaya through legal papers only: Dy CM Dhar

Shillong, June10: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar on Monday said there is no illegal coal mining and transportation in Jaintia Hills region.

Speaking to reporters, Dhar said, “No (illegal coal mining & transportation in Jaintia Hills). Now, whatever coal movement it is through legal paper only, there is no illegal.”

He said the chief minister had also replied to this. “There is no hanky-panky. Everything is in order. Yes, if there is anything wrong, the concerned department will look into this matter.”
