WILLIAMNAGAR, MAY 1: In view of the unusual rise in temperature in the district, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, has issued advisory on heatwave.
The advisory asked people to avoid going out between 12 noon and 3 pm in the afternoon, to wear lightweight, light coloured, loose and porous cotton clothes, or natural fabrics not to leave the children or pets in parked vehicles, to avoid alcohol, tea, coffee, etc.
To deal with emergencies, the District Control Room number 9366609390 has been activated.
