Tura, Sept 30: The Government has decided to release an advance share of royalties to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) to clear 12 months of pending salaries.
The funds will be transferred to an escrow account, which will be monitored by an IAS officer.
In a major administrative move, the Deputy Commissioner of Tura will also take charge as the Principal Secretary to GHADC.
