Shillong, Aug 8: In a huge revelation, BJP MLA AL Hek on Monday informed that All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) legislator HM Shangpliang is one among the many leaders who has expressed interest in joining the saffron party ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections.

Stating that they are yet to reach a final agreement, Hek said that it is in the early stage of discussion.

He further shared that there are more sitting MLAs and former MLAs who have shown interest to contest the upcoming elections on BJP ticket. But, so far, the discussions haven’t made a headway.

“It is in the early stage where we have had a round of discussion with them. But they have shown their willingness to join the BJP and contest from the party in the next coming elections,” said Hek.
