SHILLONG, APR 27: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) has alleged that NESS, an Assam-based manpower services firm blacklisted by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), is still participating in government tenders and has urged the council to take immediate action.
In a statement issued on Monday, KHNAM working president Thomas Passah said, “As per the press statement of the Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, it is informed that the KHADC have black listed the NESS (a company from Assam which runs a firm for providing manpower services to various department) because they have violated the trading by non-Tribal Regulation 1954.”
It added that the Trading Licensed issued to this firm for a contract work at KV Laitkor was also revoke.
However, KHNAM claimed the firm remains active in the bidding process.
“We have received information that this Firm is still actively taking part in tenders publish by the various Department.”
“Currently this Firm have participated and have also qualified in the tender published by the KV, Shillong Peak,” Passah stated.
The party said it has taken up the matter with the council.
“We have officially intimated this to the KHADC, CEM hoping that immediate action is taken against this firm,” Passah said.
