SHILLONG, JUN 11: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar on Thursday said the Khyndailad Shopping Mall project is nearing completion and the government will float an expression of interest once the final report is in.

“We are yet to complete it. As soon as the completion report is submitted, we will go for an expression of interest,” Dhar stated.

He also addressed the stalled Polo Mall project, saying investor interest remains low despite multiple advertisements.

“We have advertised 2-3 times but no one came forward. So again we have to discuss, we have to reduce it a little bit. That is as of today, we will have to see,” he said.

On New Shillong Township, Dhar struck an optimistic note and said work across departments is moving ahead smoothly.

“The work is progressing very well, in the positive direction, in all the projects. Some projects from urban affairs, tourism, all projects are progressing very well in and around New Shillong Township,” he added.
