Shillong, Nov 25: A landslide struck the Laitlyngkot–Lyngkyrdem stretch of the Shillong–Dawki road (NH-6) near Pomlum village on Monday, reportedly triggered by ongoing construction work.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pynursla, E.L. Warjri, said debris-clearing efforts continued late into the night as the slide severely disrupted traffic for several hours.
Warjri also urged commuters using the route to exercise caution while travelling.
