Lok Sabha polls| Voting turnout in first two hours stands at close to 10 percent in Meghalaya

Huge turnout is being seen across different polling stations in entire State, where polling is underway for two constituencies – Shillong and Tura. According to election department officials the turnout stands around 10 percent. However, official details will shortly be announced. Sitting MP Lok Sabha and NPP candidate for Tura Agatha K Sangma who came to cast her vote at 730 am, stood in line for over 1.5 hours and is still waiting for her turn. She expressed her optimism with the turnout and said that the turnout is encouraging. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma drove himself to cast his vote and reached the Walbakgre polling station in Tura to vote but has still been waiting for over 2 hours in queue.
