Must read

The solemn and holy event of Maundy Thursday to remember Lord Jesus Christ who showed to the world his humility and humbleness by washing the feet of his 12 disciples during Last Supper, on the eve of his crucifixion by the Romans, was enacted across Catholic Churches in Garo Hills. Here (in pic) Auxiliary Bishop of Tura Rt Rev C J Jose, washes the feet of 12 devotees to remember Christ in this holy event while celebrating Holy Eucharist or mass at St Mary’s Church in Araimile, Tura.

Hundreds of devotees congregate outside the Sacred Heart Shrine in Tura, the largest church of the Catholic denomination in Garo Hills, to observe Maundy Thursday and witness the religious enactment of washing of the feet of 12 disciples as done by Christ during Last Supper and on the eve of his death on the cross.
