Guwahati, Jan 31: Mayank Agarwal’s manager has lodged a complaint with Tripura police after the cricketer was hospitalised in Agartala due to falling ill during an IndiGo flight. The flight, originally en route from Agartala to Delhi as 6E 5177, had to return to its departure point following a medical emergency onboard.

“Mayank Agarwal’s manager filed a complaint, and we are registering a specific complaint. According to his manager, he drank water from a pouch that was in the aeroplane, and after he took the water from the pouch, he developed irritation in his mouth and vomiting tendencies. He was admitted to the hospital, and his condition is stable, but he is having ulcers in his mouth,” said West Tripura SP Kiran Kumar K.

State health secretary Kiran Gitte said, “Police has admitted his complaint, and we will investigate as to what happened. As per his manager, he will travel tomorrow to Bengaluru, and meanwhile, whatever best treatment is available in Agartala, we will provide it to him.”

What did Mayank Agatrwal consume? 

According to reports, Agarwal, who was leaving for Delhi from the capital city of Tripura along with the Karnataka team on Tuesday, consumed a packet of water onboard the flight, following which he complained of uneasiness and a burning sensation in his throat and started vomiting.

Mayank out of danger 

Mayank was rushed to the hospital and treated by a team of doctors. While he is out of any possible danger, the hospital has reportedly revealed that he will not be able to speak for one or two days as he has ulcers and swelling in the mouth.

According to the Karnataka team manager, Mayank rushed to the restroom on the flight after feeling an itching sensation in his throat before being attended to by the doctors, who then advised hospitalisation.
