Shillong, Oct 6: UDP candidate for the Mawphlang bye-election, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, on Wednesday filed his nomination papers at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Shillong.Lyngdoh was accompanied by UDP leaders Lahkmen Rymbui, Balajied Synrem, Nujorki Sungoh and the party’s women’s wing president.
Speaking to reporters, Lyngdoh said the reason for him to choose the UDP party is because he wanted to be part of a prominent regional party.He also expressed confidence of winning the bye-election, and on winning he assured to complete all the projects that were started by his father, late S K Sunn.
Meanwhile, UDP has decided not to contest from the Mawryngkneng Constituency, instead it will support NPP candidate Pyniaid Sing Syiem.
