SHILLONG, JUN 13: Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Friday expressed confidence that preparations for the upcoming National Games are on track, with all pending projects expected to be completed within the stipulated timeline.

He acknowledged minor delays in some works but ruled out major concerns.

“There are a few issues with some projects, but we are confident that they will be completed on time,” the Minister added.

To ensure smooth conduct of the Games, the state has constituted a dedicated body. “As you all know, we have formed the National Games Society for smooth functioning and preparations,” Shylla said.

The Minister said the department has been directed to set up committees for key logistics. “I have directed the department to begin appointing officials for the different committees that will look after accommodation, transportation, health, and other areas. I have asked them to complete these appointments within a month, after which I will review their preparedness for the National Games,” he stated.
