Shillong, Oct 16: Meghalaya will host the Women’s Tri-Nation International Football Tournament this October at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong, featuring the national teams of India, IR Iran and Nepal.
The tournament will be India’s first FIFA international window after qualifying for the AFC Women’s Asia Cup 2026 and further strengthens Meghalaya’s position as a major venue for national and international sporting events.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said Shillong has successfully hosted high-profile tournaments, including the 134th Durand Cup and international friendlies, and confirmed that the state is fully prepared. He added that all necessary arrangements have been made for smooth conduct.
The fixtures, all kicking off at 6:00 PM (IST), are as follows:
October 21, 2025 – India vs IR Iran
October 24, 2025 – Nepal vs IR Iran
October 27, 2025 – India vs Nepal
