Shillong, Apr 28: A series of closely fought matches and comeback wins highlighted Tuesday’s fixtures in the 5th Meghalaya State League (MSL 5), with several teams overturning deficits to secure crucial points.
At the MFA Ground in Shillong, Mawphu SC came from behind to beat Mulang SC Nongbah 3-2 in Group B. Woldrik Susngi (10’) gave Mulang an early lead, but Mawphu responded through Arkidon L War (28’), Larikupar Nongkynrih (64’P) and Banman Roy Nongsiej (83’). A late goal by Dashwakini Susngi (90’) was not enough to prevent Mulang’s defeat.

In Khliehriat, Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC edged Ladthadlaboh SC 2-1 in Group D. After trailing to Pyniaidskhem Sylliang (31’), they turned the game around through a brace by Hesmiki Rymbai (67’P, 90’+2).
In Williamnagar, Maram FC ended a two-match losing streak with a 3-2 win over A’chik SCO Rongjeng in Group G. Tremarchwal Ch Marak (2’), Bris Taro (43’) and Santosh Teron (55’) scored for Maram, while Keri G Momin struck twice (45’, 49’) for Rongjeng.

Meanwhile, Seng Samla Umdang Pyllun were held to a 1-1 draw by Mawten SC in Group H at Mawkyrwat. Rangkynsaistar Mawsor put Umdang Pyllun ahead in the 36th minute, continuing his scoring run, before Oversharp Iawphniaw (75’) equalised.
There will be only one match on Wednesday, in Group G, which will see Attong Matgrik FC take on Janepih YSCA at 3pm in Williamnagar.
