Baghmara, Feb 21: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) conducted a two-day recruitment drive at Baghmara and Gasuapara in South Garo Hills on February 20 and 21, as part of its statewide initiative to generate employment opportunities for unemployed youth.
The drive focused on multiple sectors, including nursing, electrician trades, hospitality, and hotel management, among others. Hundreds of young aspirants turned up at the venues to explore placement and skill-based employment opportunities facilitated by MSSDS.
A total of 384 youths registered during the recruitment drive, reflecting strong participation and growing interest in skill development and organised sector employment in the region.
The initiative forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to enhance employability, bridge skill gaps, and connect youth with industry-relevant opportunities.
