Tura, Nov 6: Nagaland hosted its first full tarmac hill climb rally, Throttle Thrust VII, where Natash Yuvraj of the Tura Motor Sports Club (TMSC) secured first place in the SUV category.
The two-day event, organised by the Spearhead Motorsport Initiative (SMI), Mokokchung, drew competitors and motorsport supporters from across Nagaland and the Northeast.

The event was flagged off by ADC Mokokchung Atsungba Walling, who attended as the Special Guest. Drivers competed on a 3.3 km hill climb course in Longmisa, which featured varying road widths and shifting weather conditions that demanded technical precision and control.
Yuvraj’s performance stood out in the SUV class, where he maintained consistent pace and stability across multiple runs to claim the top podium position.

The competition featured three categories — Open, Below 1300cc, and SUV — with prize money awarded to top finishers.
The event concluded on November 5 with the prize distribution ceremony.
Organisers stated that the success of Throttle Thrust VII signals growing participation and interest in motorsport within Nagaland, while also providing a platform for drivers from across the Northeast to compete in professionally-organised racing events.
