Tura, June 12: As the digital wave, driven by artificial intelligence (AI), continues to redefine job roles, industry leaders, policy makers and academics gathered at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura Campus, on Friday to deliberate on the question that is at the forefront of discussions worldwide: what will keep human talent indispensable in the digital age?
The question that will be answered is the crux of 14th HR conclave, SYNERGOS’26, a two day event organized by the Department of Management, NEHU, Tura campus along with Placement and Counselling cell of the institute.
With the theme “Human Capital in the Digital Era,” the conclave brought together renowned voices from the corporate world, public institutions and academia to discuss how organizations can be ready for a future that will be driven by technology but powered by those attributes which are exclusively human.
During the inaugural session, experts said, even though technologies like AI continue to transform industries, creativity, critical thinking, leadership qualities, adaptability and empathy are the main drivers for success in the long run.
The conclave was inaugurated in the presence of Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Fameline K. Marak, Head of Department of Management Prof. J.U. Ahmed and various industry leaders in the capacity of former and present executives of the Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council,GAIL, Indian Oil, Emami,Reliance Industries, etc.
The conclave saw a series of interaction sessions and panel discussions on leadership in AI era, diversity and inclusion in future workplace, impact of the rapidly changing relationship between humans and technology in decision making, skills and strategy to mitigate the emerging gaps.
The conclave has a specific goal of strengthening the link between classrooms and boardrooms by providing an insight into the present world of business to the students and expectations of the industry.
The department’s Magazine and Students’ Placement Brochure were also released at the event.
For management students, participating in the conclave was more than gaining industry insights. It was an experience to learn what the future of work looks like: a synergy of technical intelligence along with human acumen, leadership and adaptability.
The conclave will continue tomorrow Saturday with more sessions of expert interaction and student engagement.
