Shillong, Sep 1: Meghalaya’s motorsport sensation, Phoebe Dale Nongrum, has etched her name in history by becoming the first woman to secure three podium finishes at the prestigious Dakshin Dare Cross Country Rally 2025.
The grueling five-day rally, which began in Bengaluru, raced across Andhra Pradesh before culminating back in the Karnataka capital, tested endurance, skill, and strategy. Phoebe, driving with remarkable composure and aggression, partnered with seasoned navigator Venu Kumar of Coimbatore — a six-time two-wheeler rally champion — to deliver a standout performance.
Her results were nothing short of historic:
- T1 Modified Car Category: 3rd Place

- Overall Standings: 4th Place (Top 5 podium finish)
With this, Phoebe not only underlined her individual brilliance but also set a new benchmark for women in Indian motorsport, where female participation is steadily gaining momentum.
Speaking after the rally, Phoebe credited her success to teamwork and perseverance. “This victory is not just mine; it belongs to my navigator, my team, and everyone who supported me through this journey,” she said.
The Meghalaya Motorsports Society hailed her achievement, congratulating both Phoebe and Venu Kumar for bringing pride to the state and to India’s motorsport fraternity.
Phoebe’s feat, a rare blend of resilience, passion, and precision driving, has firmly established her as a trailblazer — inspiring a new generation of women racers in the country.
