Nongpoh, Oct 20: The Ri Bhoi District Police have recovered a huge cache of explosives from a location at Nongspung C village in the district on Tuesday.
As per reports, the explosives were well packed in a plastic bag and concealed inside the bush near a culvert located along the Pillangkata-Killing road.
The recovered explosives include 29 Electronic Detonators with fuse wire attached, Power 90E Kelvex Gel, Class-2 Cat – ZZ Explosive 119.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
Mentionably, this comes a month after a prominent Shillong based social activist, Joannes Lamare, along with three persons, was arrested for alleged seeking help from the NSCN(IM) for forming a new militant outfit in Meghalaya.

A little over two months back, Ri-Bhoi district police along with West Garo Hills recovered huge cache of explosives from a person in Umdu village on Umling-Patharkhmah road under Nongpoh police station, meant for floating a new militant outfit in Garo Hills.
