Boko, Oct 21: Riangdo Football Club (Meghalaya) defeated New Balance football club by 3-1 goals in the final match of Late Majorsing R. Marak memorial football tournament at the Hahim High School playground in Boko-Chaygaon co-district.

The final match, held at the Hahim High School playground, was ceremonially inaugurated by noted social worker of the region, Gancheng B. Changmai.

Late Majorsing Marak, a former Principal of Hahim High School, was widely respected as a pioneering educationist and social worker whose contributions to the academic and social uplift of the area remain deeply cherished.

The annual memorial tournament, organised in his honour, continues to inspire the youth with a message of unity and enthusiasm.

The much-anticipated Late Majorsing R. Marak Memorial Football Tournament, organised by the Hahim Regional Garo Students’ Union at the Assam–Meghalaya border town of Hahim under Boko-Chaygaon co-district.

The organisers expressed gratitude to the local community for their wholehearted support, which ensured the smooth and successful completion of the tournament.

Among the distinguished guests present at the final were Purnakanta Kalita, Headmaster of Hahim High School; Pranakrishna Rabha, Officer-in-Charge of Hahim Police Out Post; Samuel Ch. Sangma, Officer-in-Charge of Athiabari Police Police Out Post(Meghalaya); and Babul Chandra Boro, President of the Hahim Bajar Samiti, along with a large number of local residents.

The event not only celebrated the memory of Late Majorsing R. Marak but also reinforced the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among the youth of the border region.
