The school won the championship in all three categories – Under-17 Boys, Under-17 Girls, and Under-15 Boys, firmly establishing them as undisputed champions of South West Garo Hills.

The path to glory was paved with thrilling encounters. In the Under-17 Boys final, St. Claret carved out a hard-fought 2-1 victory over a tenacious Future Foundation. The Under-17 Girls’ contest was a nail-biter, culminating in a tense penalty shootout where St. Claret ultimately triumphed 2-1 against Birin Nuchong Secondary School. Not to be outdone, the Under-15 Boys delivered a goal-fest, outclassing Emmanuel English School with an astounding 11-5 scoreline that underscored their offensive prowess.

St. Claret’s excellence wasn’t just confined to team accolades; their individual stars shone brightest. Every ‘Best Player’ award across all three categories went to their athletes: Arlundsky D. Sangma (U-17 Boys), Jreamme G. Momin (U-17 Girls), and Alpinson Arengh (U-15 Boys).

The grand finale saw Dolrich B. G. Momin, Additional Deputy Commissioner, grace the prize distribution ceremony as Chief Guest, alongside Zanera Marak, District Social Welfare Officer, as Guest of Honour. Addressing the young athletes, Momin imparted a vital lesson beyond the pitch. “In life, some win and some lose,” he acknowledged, “But with wholehearted effort and hard work, success is always within reach, whether on the field or in academics.” He also issued a powerful call to action, urging students and youth to commit to building a drug-free district.

A total of 13 teams participated in the tournament, with 5 teams each competing in the Under-17 Boys and Girls categories, and 3 teams in the Under-15 Boys category.

The tournament was a joint initiative by the District Social Welfare Office and the District Sports Office of South West Garo Hills under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. It also aligned with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. All attendees took a pledge to stand against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
