The parents of MP-elect and pro-Khalistan separatist leader Amritpal Singh arrived at Dibrugarh Central Jail today to visit their son. Tarsem Singh and Balwinder Kaur, who travelled from Punjab, entered the jail accompanied by their daughter-in-law and Amritpal's wife Kirandeep Kaur.
According to police sources, the graffiti discovered early this morning included phrases such as "Declare a former Khalistan territory" and "Request UNESCO to India".
After the victory of the jailed Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh from the Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency in Punjab on Tuesday, his wife Kirandeep Kaur accompanied with advocate and former Punjab MP Rajdeo Singh Khalsa arrived in Dibrugarh Central jail on Wednesday. Amritpal Singh won from the Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat by 1,97,120 votes.
Amritpal Singh, who fought the electoral battle from an Assam Dibrugarh jail, secured 4,04,430 votes as opposed to Congress's Kulbir Singh Zira's 2,07,310 votes.
The Khalistan Ideologue, Amritpal Singh along with nine other inmates who have been lodged in Dibrugarh Jail have ended their hunger strike on Thursday.
