In a joint initiative by the office of the Director of Balpakram National Park, South Garo Hills, and the Wildlife Trust of India, the occasion of "World Elephant Day" was observed under the theme “A call to action to end illegal wildlife trade”. The event unfolded at the District Sports Playground in Baghmara, resonating with a collective commitment to safeguard these magnificent creatures.
This programme was dedicated towards the conservation and protection of elephants and to share knowledge and positive solutions for a better care and management of elephants.
