Guwahati, May 24: Tezpur University and Bangkok-based Silpakorn University on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster academic collaboration, initiate joint research projects, and facilitate faculty and student exchange programmes.
The agreement was formalised at the President’s Office of Silpakorn University in Thailand.
“Both universities are also committed to sharing academic resources, organising collaborative seminars and workshops, and promoting cultural understanding through interdisciplinary studies,” the official statement said.

Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, said the partnership is expected to open new avenues for collaborative learning and scholarly dialogue between India and Thailand. He highlighted that the MoU will help deepen the historical and cultural ties between the two countries, especially those shared by the Tai-Ahom and other Tai ethnic communities in Assam with Thai heritage.
Tezpur University is a Central University located in Assam, established by an Act of Parliament in 1994.
