Agartala, Sept 13: Tripura police have arrested 6 persons in connection with the embezzlement of Rs 25.60 lakh. Police arrested a police constable and five ministerial staff associated with the office of Superintendent of Police in Tripura’s Unokoti district on Tuesday.
Unokoti district’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Vanneiliana Darlong, said, “A local court of Kailashahar sent all the six to judicial custody. The investigating officers are now interrogating them.”
After the department audit found the misappropriation of funds, the Superintendent of Police, Kanta Jangir, ordered the arrest of the police constable and five ministerial staff.
