SHILLONG, JAN 29: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday assured that the government will take necessary action regarding the ISIS-K poster warning Garos to vacate their land.
“Let the government take necessary action but we will make sure that such thing should not happen,” Tynsong told reporters.
Tynsong described the issue as “very serious” and announced that an investigation will be initiated immediately. “…this is a very serious issue. That is why I am telling you that investigation will immediately start,” he stated.
Regarding demands for a central investigation, Tynsong said, “First we will see. Suppose now if the state investigation feels that it is also needed that the central government step in, we are ready for that.”
When asked about possible vested interests behind the incident, Tynsong said, “I can’t say right now as it is too early to say anything. So let us wait and we will see. We are already on the job (to investigate into the matter).”
