Agartala, July 24: Authorities at Kamalpur Government College in Tripura have ordered a formal investigation after a video surfaced on social media allegedly showing an associate professor from the Chemistry Department engaging in inappropriate physical conduct with a female student.

The video, reportedly recorded on July 21, appears to capture the professor and the student in intimate acts within the college premises, raising serious concerns about the sanctity of the academic environment.

College authorities confirmed that a formal complaint has been received and a probe is underway.

Speaking to reporters, college principal Dr. Abhijit Sarkar said, “We have received a complaint and have begun our investigation. A detailed report will be submitted to the Directorate of Higher Education within two days.”

Sources claim that the professor had been in an illicit relationship with the student, who is now in her sixth semester, for nearly two years. She is reportedly the only honours student in the Chemistry Department, which allegedly enabled the professor to isolate her under the pretext of academic sessions.
