Aizawl, Jan 2: A Joint Bike Rally and pledge taking ceremony was organized by Assam Rifles by Lunglei and Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles towards the Drug De-addiction campaign at Aizawl. the bike rally was jointly carried out with Royal Knights and Assam Rifles.

The rally spread the message of Drug de-addiction and visited “Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts” where a cake cutting ceremony was organised and Commandant, Lunglei Battalion Assam Rifles distributed essential commodities and Anti-Pandemic items. The Bike Rally was flagged in by Dr. K Pachhunga, MLA Lunglei at the Assam Rifles helipad followed by Prayer Ceremony for universal wellbeing and Pipe band display.

Brigadier Digvijay Singh, SM administered the oath taking in presence of all prominent NGOs of the state. The roll-on plan for the Anti-drug campaign was also given by Commandant, Aizawl battalion. A drug awareness video was screened for all the participants highlighting the negative impacts of drug intake. An interactive session followed in which ways and means of conduct of the campaign were discussed. The NGOs also expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this initiative by Assam rifles.
