Assam: Sivasagar district secures first position in Gunotsav 2023

Guwahati, April 25: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday announced that Sivasagar district has secured the first position in the Gunotsav 2023.

The Gunotsav 2023 results were declared by the CM, who expressed his satisfaction with the significant and qualitative improvement of infrastructure and education in the state’s schools. He has expressed satisfaction on the substantial and qualitative improvement of infrastructure and education in the schools of the state.

According to the results, Charaideo, Golaghat, and Majuli secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, while Kamrup Metro ranked 29th. Out of the 19,172 schools that participated in the Gunotsav 2023 in Assam, more than 11,000 schools received an A+ grade for their performance, marking a significant improvement in the field of education across all parameters.

Speaking to media persons, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that a financial aid of Rs 25,000 to all schools receiving A+ grade.

CM Sarma also stressed on drawing up plans to discuss efforts on how to improve the C and D grade schools and take them to at least B grade.
