Aizawl, Jan 10: Brigadier Girish Upadhya, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, on Tuesday took over the charge of DIG, 23 Sector Assam Rifles, from Brig Digvijay Singh, SM at the 23 Sector Assam Rifles.

Brigadier Girish Upadhya will now lead the Assam Rifles and its operations in Mizoram.

On the other hand, Brig Digvijay Singh was seen off by sector jawans and Assam Rifles officers at the sector headquarters as per the Assam Rifles tradition. He stood on a pilot car and was hand-pulled to the sector gate.
