Conrad amazed by the rich and diverse culture preserved at Itanagar Museum

Itanagar, Oct 18: Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) Chief, Conrad K Sangma on Monday visited the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum in Itanagar, the state capital of Arunachal.


The NPP Chief is on a two-day visit to Arunachal for attending a Conclave with the theme ‘Regional Aspirations, National Outlook’, organized by the Arunachal unit of National People’s Party (NPP) in Itanagar on Oct 19. He arrived in Itanagar on Sunday evening. Amazed by the diversity and richness of culture preserved in the museum, Sangma said, “It’s a really beautiful and well maintained museum. And it is giving a clear picture of the diverse historical and culture diversity the state has. It was nice to see the archaeological artefacts which I never knew were out there.”


Stressing that “the culture and traditions of the North East are of great significance to our history and our roots” he said the museum is a great showcase of the diversity India has. Also speaking on the conclave after his visit to the museum, he said the topic of conclave is very relevant and important for the North Eastern region. “Regional aspirations yet having national outlook… it’s a very important topic for the North East. We have got people from different walks of life to come in and discuss about this issue. And lot of good suggestions and discussion will take place,” he said. It’s a really beautiful and well maintained museum. And it is giving a clear picture of the diverse historical and culture diversity the state has. It was nice to see the archaeological artefacts which I never knew were out there.
