Shillong, Apr 28: Several closely fought encounters and weather disruptions added intrigue to Monday’s fixtures in the 5th Meghalaya State League (MSL 5), with rain affecting play across venues.

The Group F match between Lawbah SC and Mishon SSCC in Mairang had to be postponed due to poor ground conditions following heavy rainfall.

In Group H, Mawlarshong SC held Rangdajied United FC to a 0-0 draw in Mawkyrwat. Having earlier drawn 1-1 in the first leg, Mawlarshong remain unbeaten against the 2023 champions in both meetings this season.

Another goalless draw was recorded in Williamnagar, where Janepih YSCA were held by Balmanduri FC. The result came as a surprise, with Janepih entering the match on the back of three consecutive wins.

In Khliehriat, Thangskai Tiger SC staged a comeback to defeat Jalaphet Moochut Pyrdung SC 2-1 in Group D. After a goalless first half, Thomas Dkhar (53’) put Jalaphet ahead, but goals from Wendi Markson Nongtdu (72’) and Solmon Sympli (87’) turned the match around.

Meanwhile, in Group C, Amlarem SC secured a 3-1 victory over Lamin XI SCC. Iaid Da Kyrmen Jungai (4’) and Marshial Nongrum (27’, 83’) scored for Amlarem, while Densil Kongwang (78’) netted for Lamin XI.
