‘Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat’ reaches out to people in Thadlaskein Block in West Jaintia Hills

Jowai, Nov 16: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs observed the ‘Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat’ at Thadlaskein C&RD Block, West Jaintia Hills on Thursday.

The awareness programme was held at ATS Kyortyrkhang, Khliehtyrshi in West Jaintia Hills District. The officers from the Block office, KVK, Agriculture, Branch Manager SBI, Jowai, representatives from LPG gas agency and others educated the participants on the various government schemes that include PMAY, PMJAY, NRML, Atal Pension Yojna, PM Jan Dhan Yojana, Nano fertilizers and other schemes, a similar programme was also held at Moopyllaitsyiar, Khliehtryshi.

Viksit pledge was taken by the participants led by B. Langbang, BDO of Thadlaskein Block.

Langbang informed that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp is initiated by the Central Government to reach out to the public through the IEC (Information, Education and Communication) Van. The IEC Van will travel to 49 villages in Thadlaskein Block to spread awareness about government welfare schemes.

During the awareness programme, the medical department conducted free health screening including BP test, TB screenings, along with smart card service.

The beneficiaries from the government scheme were also given an opportunity to share their experience. A short skit was also presented by the VO of the village with a message on protecting the environment.
