Dibrugarh, June 10: In a major accident, an LPG cylinder-laden truck crashed into the under-construction Toll Plaza near Bogibeel bridge. The impact of the crash led to massive damage to the under-construction Toll Plaza.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 9, about 17 kilometres from Dibrugarh town.
According to reports, the truck bearing registration number NL02N 7660, en route to Lakhimpur from Makum in Tinsukia, crashed into a toll plaza post and fell on the road, causing widespread panic among locals and travellers fearing a fire hazard.
The collision led to substantial damage to the toll plaza infrastructure. Two toll lanes, posts, and the barrier gate were severely damaged.
Police sources informed that the handyman of the truck suffered severe injuries and was admitted to DMCH. Police from Leptakota Police Station and firefighters rushed to the site for rescue operations. The affected portion of the road was cleared for traffic soon after.
