Shillong, Oct 3: The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) will hold its general body meeting at Malki ground on October 6 to discuss the various pending demands that include regularisation of the services of over 14000 SSA teachers in the state.

In a statement issued on Friday, MSSASA President Aristotle Rymbai said, “We will discuss the issues which the association has been pursuing with the state government for its necessary consideration.”

He informed that the association is pushing for the regularization of SSA teachers’ services besides implementation of a pay structure with enhanced salaries for SSA teachers.

The association will also discuss the Supreme Court’s recent order making it mandatory for in-service teachers to clear the teachers’ eligibility test (TET).

Notably, over 3,332 SSA schools in Meghalaya have submitted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to hand over their management to the state government, out of a total of 5,131 SSA schools in the state.

Out of this, there are 298 religious and private managed SSA schools.
